Guest Blog from Lindsey

Lindsey had been asking to guest blog for us and I wasn't quite sure what she was wanting to do. However, when I read the things she had to say about us, I felt honored. It is true when she says we care about our clients, but how can we help it when we have such wonderful clients. Sean and Lindsey, we are so sorry for your loss, Jackie will be missed. Below is Lindsey's guest post.

It took a lot of begging and pleading, but Brandy finally let me guest post on her blog. This is my first guest post and I’m so excited about it. It’s pretty obvious that Brandy is an amazing photographer, so I wanted to write about the people that Brandy and Justin are.

We met Brandy & Justin three years ago, when we hired them to photograph our wedding. We trusted them to capture one of the most special days of our lives, and they become our best friends, not to mention, our wedding photos are amazing.



Since then, we have made a lot of great memories and taken some incredible photos, but I want to tell you about one shoot in particular, one that we will I always treasure and never be able to look at without fighting tears.

When I met my husband, he had a very special woman in his life, his beloved dog Jackie. This dog was really something special and she will forever hold a big part of our hearts. Jackie worked so hard for us, always willing to retrieve in any conditions we asked her to. She started to get sick and we fought hard for her, buying her an extra 3 years with us. In that time, I think she captured Brandy & Justin’s heart too.

A couple weeks ago, we knew that Jackie’s time had come and that she would want to leave this earth with her dignity intact. We made an appointment to have her put down and I called our friends to tell them the news. Brandy was super busy with all kinds of things going on, but her and Justin dropped everything and came over that morning. We went outside and played with Jackie; we threw birds for her and hugged her, and even made her an ice cream sundae. The camera was on hand and we captured some of the most touching, amazing photos I’ve ever seen.

Like I said, it’s pretty obvious that Brandy is amazingly talented, but it is so much more important to realize that her and Justin are truly good people. They are the kind of friends that most people can only hope to have. They really care about every single client and every single photo, I know this because I hear them talk about it often, and I can see it in the way they are committed to their work.

Brandy & Justin, thank you for all that you’ve done for us, there aren’t words big enough to express our gratitude.

Life

It’s 4 am and I am wide awake. I have been working on getting up earlier so I guess maybe I’ve hit success but it’s a bit earlier then I had intended. Although it just might give me the chance to get in a blog post I have been meaning to post for the past month.

Some people have informed me they noticed we were absent on the blog starting around the end of November. Life turned crazy for us about that time. It wasn’t that we didn’t have sessions to post or things to say, but we had so many of life’s moment hit us that we were barely able to get out orders, keep up with our clients, and celebrate the holidays. It seems that with the start of the holiday season, the craziness started with not us but for our families. At one point, it seemed over half our family had been hit with something. It was one of those times when Justin and I held each other a little tighter. In the end, most of our family is doing better. They are healthy again and for that we are blessed.

However, we didn’t go without loss. At the start of December, we lost Ruth, a grandmother to Justin and an amazing woman. Ruth was a “say it as it is” type lady who at 88 was always put together perfectly, hair in its place, make-up on, and sharp as a tack. I loved Ruth the second I met her. She made me smile every time I was around her and thinking of her still does. We could chat for hours about anything and everything. She had done more things in her life then I can ever imagine accomplishing! Up until the very end, she still cooked daily meals for Gramps. Not quick throw it together meals but full three course meals. She spoiled him and we are grateful for it. We talk often about her and are reminded daily of her by her kitty (Tiger) who now resides at our house and sleeps with us each night.

With everything that happened in the last several weeks, we were so quickly reminded not to take life for granted and to take time out for the important moments in life. To think we almost missed the last breakfast with Gramps and Ruth because we thought we were too busy but now we are so glad we stopped long enough to enjoy their company.

Life is finally calming down for us and we will be back to blogging and life. With the new year comes many new things for us. One of those will be to enjoy what is around us.

The photo below is just a quick photo my dad snapped for us at Thanksgiving a few years ago. We grabbed Ruth and Gramps for the photo just before they left that day. I love this picture of the four of us.

Eugene Bridal Show

This weekend we will be an exhibitor in The Oregon Wedding Showcase in Eugene. This is a great opportunity to gather wedding ideas and meet with some of Willamette Valley's finest wedding vendors. You will also find many wonderful show specials. Be sure to ask us about our show special!

The show will be held in the Lane Events Center on both Saturday the 9th & Sunday the 10th. The doors will be open from 10:00-5:00 (Sat.) and 11:00-4:00 (Sun.) with fashion shows at 12:30 & 3:00.
